LMDE - Cannot set default application for MP4

In LMDE using Caja it did not work to change the default application for MP4 using Open with...-option. Solution was to manually edit ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list. In my case I wanted vlc.desktop in the whole file instead of totem.desktop.

After restarting caja, doing killall caja, it was now the desired application as default for MP4.
