Network adapter - Intel Pro 1000 MT Desktop Adapter - Cannot save settings
When trying to save settings for the Intel PRO 1000 MT desktop adapter in Windows XP I encountered a problem where the OK button did not close nor save the settings. To solve this I used regedit to manually edit the settings in the registry. I found them at the following key (folder): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002bE10318}\0032 To find it I searched for "SavePowerNowEnabled" and "8086". The settings are not totally self-explained, here are some examples: "Reduce link speed during standby" = ReduceSpeedOnPowerDown "Reduce link speed to save power" = SavePowerNowEnabled (You may start regedit using Start, Run, regedit [Enter])
