Android + Sony Xperia - Remove What's New


In Debian, do the following:

su
apt-get install android-tools-adb

On the device:

Enable developer mode by going to Settings, System, About and tap version a lot of times

Then in the Developer alternatives, enable USB-debugging

Then connect the device an run this in a terminal:

adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.sonymobile.entrance

Regarding permission problems:

Find the  ~/.android folder and remove the files in there.
Disable and enable USB debugging and retry.

Go to Settings > Apps > Settings icon (at the bottom).

Then Advanced > Special access > Draw over the other apps.

At the top right, in the scrolling menu, choose "Show system processes".

Disable "Permit drawing over other apps" until it works.

Select "Floating dock" and disable "Permit drawing over other apps"
