XMouse - Remote keyboard/mouse for Debian (or other Linux) - Basic install

There are plenty of apps out there that can be used to remote control computers using smartphones.

But many of them require additional server software to be installed on the host machine.

In Debian, XMouse doesn't because it uses SSH. You need to install openssh-server and xdotool though, but it's in the repos.

How to use, basic install:

On the computer:

sudo apt-get install openssh-server xdotool

On the Android device, install XMouse:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stripe1.xmouse&hl=en&rdid=com.stripe1.xmouse

Open the app, go to the menu (three lines up in the left top corner), go to Manage Hosts, click on the plus in the bottom right and add your host, save it and back out of Manage Hosts.

Go to the menu again and click on your newly added host. Hopefully it will connect and now you can use the keyboard and mouse in XMouse.
